Classes

We offer something a little different to sing-along music activities. Our sessions are tailor made and developmentally specific for each age range, with the aim of developing and enhancing knowledge through songs and musical games. Sessions are carefully planned to encourage a child's understanding of self, develop self-confidence, life skills and language.

As in an educational setting, our classes are topic led and also include seasonal songs and activities appropriate to the time of year. Topics include 'Ourselves', 'Parts of our Bodies', 'Animals' and many more. Learning is through creative play, which is in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage ethos.

Class Sizes:

We keep classes small, so there will never be more than 10 babies or toddlers in a session. This makes for a more relaxed atmosphere, gives the children plenty of space to move around with not too many people in one room, it makes the class experience less daunting initially and a welcoming and comforting environment afterwards, and gives both parent and child a better opportunity to get to know other families.

Age Range:

Our music groups are split into two age groups.

These are flexible, depending on the needs of each individual child as all children develop in different ways at different times. As a rule of thumb, confident walkers from around 15 months will generally join our Toddler group, but older babies are welcome to stay in the baby group for longer if so wished. Claire will always discuss this with you and give informed advice if you are unsure.

Class Fees:

Classes run on a weekly basis, in 5 or 6 week blocks, in line with the state school terms. Fees are due half-termly in advance. This secures your place in the class for that half-term. We will usually ask you if you would like to sign up for the next half-term on the penultimate session of the existing term. You are under no obligation to sign up for multiple terms, but once you have done so, non-payment of fees by the deadline issued means that your space will be forfeited and offered to someone on our waiting list.

Taster sessions:

These are usually available, depending on class sizes. Contact Claire for more details if you are interested in joining us for the first time.

We look forward to seeing you and sharing our enthusiasm for music and learning with you soon
